From the magical New York city borough of Staten Island comes Norah Tan, top candidate for potato overlord of the world! A junior in Wharton, she’s a truly multifaceted mentor, equally likely on any given day of the week to sit with you and have a deep, empathetic conversation or to take you out around campus and get super lit with you. Always willing to lend a listening ear and a helping hand, Norah is truly the captain at the hull of the PTS ship, steering it with a smile so bright it clear any stormy sky.
Co-president, coder, (ex) cheerleader, this tiny Taiwanese tinkerbell has got it all. Stef “Yu Ji” Wang possesses seemingly infinite positive energy and genuine care for people. You may find her doing one of the following activities on campus: eating, sleeping, studying CIS/cognitive science, bullying her PTS little, and telling people she needs to go to the gym but never actually going. Whatever it is, she’ll be doing it smiling like a cutie patootie. Be sure to always give her hugs and show her the latest dank memes. 8^D
Theresa Lin aka TREE is the most amazing combination of “why am I so derp” and being hot af while dancing to literally any song (and also just being hot in general). Aside from being a BBB major and huge foodie, she is also an expert at lighting up everyone’s day with her smile and random stories about basically anything!!! Also she is a great hugger (just ask her litto)! She is not only oak-ay, you best beleaf she is the best. tree. ever
The most artistic, friendly and patient person you would ever meet, is from Potomac, Maryland, the 7th most educated small town in the US. The future Hayao Miyazaki or Disney animator, Amy majors in Digital Media Designs and excels in both the Arts and Computer Science. Though she is usually appreciative of many things in life such as Pokemon, Vegetables, seaweed and mint are not part of those. She usually studies in her room, but you may sometimes catch her in Stommons or Harnwell lounges, try your luck there!
BLURB: Although Andrew hails from the icy regions of Vancouver, Canada, he has a heart as warm as Taiwanese summer days. When he’s not managing the $$ for PTS or preparing for his guaranteed-admission dental school (#7yrsatPenn), he can be found lifting weights, debating Taiwanese politics, and getting lit on a school night. He is also a proud member of the MERT lin and a self-proclaimed (nevertheless effective) enabler, having “enabled” (aka killed) his litto in multiple occasions. But all drinking aside, he is a warmhearted big and a kindhearted human being!
Meet Howard (Howie) Yuan, PTS’s very own Vice President of Internal Affairs. Hailing from the suburbs of Pennsylvania, Howie is a current sophomore studying computer science. Outside of PTS, Howie encourages discussions on Pan-Asian cultural and political issues as the Special Events Chair of Sangam and promotes social gatherings within the Alpha Chi Rho (Crows) fraternity. In his free time, Howie’s interests include playing the guitar and leading photography walks. If you ever need help creating a Facebook cover photo, hit Howie up for a quick tutorial of Canva. If you’re looking to learn photoshop, maybe consider someone else. But most importantly, if you just looking for a cuddly hugger, then Howie is the one for you!
Tiffany is a sophomore from a Denton, Texas, a small town in the middle of nowhere. As an unapologetic kleptomaniac, she can be found scouring the campus for free food to share with her friends and fellow sophomores who are no longer on the meal plan. She enjoys watching 9-hour documentaries, organizing (super amazing and cool) conferences, and enjoying lit outings with her lineage! Tiff is one of the the sweetest and most hilarious people on campus, so don’t hesitate to say hi to her on Locust!
Sean is a beautiful human hailing from Floral Meadows, New York. He is a pre-med man, and has always wanted to be a doctor. He somehow manages to be the sweetest but also swolest man alive (sweet to swole ratio 1:1). You can see find him working out, dancing around (He's in Pan Asian), singing a song, or just being a chill dude in general. He's quite the lady killer (not on purpose it just happens!) so make sure you don't find yourself falling for him!
Rachel hails from the birthplace of the Taipei 101 skyscraper (for those of you who don’t know, that is Taipei), but was originally born in Seoul, South Korea. She is a freshmen in the College, and is pursuing a degree in Communications. No one can question her communication skills, as showcased by her unprecedented performance in selling presales (watch out Nora!). When not hounding people about PTS events, Rachel can be found staying up to unreasonable hours in the night and taking snapchats of the weather (in CELSIUS). Rachel is an amazingly sweet and cheerful person who is never afraid to say hi and strike up a conversation. Come say hi to Rachel at our next event!
Hi friends and readers of the world! My name is Jake and i like to draw. I’m a freshman at Penn majoring in Digital Media Design from the Upper East Side of NYC but I definitely am not like the people on Gossip Girl! Though I am not Taiwanese, I’m a super hardworking Marketing Chair and am always up for a challenge! Come find me at PTS events and I’ll draw a portrait of you in under a minute! When I’m not drawing or spending time with PTS, you can find me watching people ice skate or swimming with the club swim team. I am a soft boi but lowkey a tank so dont challenge me unless you want to get REKD. (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡
Alvin Tsuei is literally the most impressive person you will ever met. Not only is he in 10922981 clubs, but he handles all of it + schoolwork + life with ridiculous efficiency (even if it’s Math 114…RIP). Even though he never responds to you (there is 0 shame in double/triple/quadruple texting this one), he’ll always bring you food if you ask (and even when you don’t ask) and his Big really, really appreciates that. Stop him on Locust and ask him about Taiwanese history, nightlife in Taiwan, and why he wore a tie to Gen. Board pictures.
Meet William ZhuoMing Li, the great meme lord in the history of memes, otherwise known as Will or Billy (for childhood nostalgia’s sake). He shows affection through roasts and sending you inappropriate memes. When he’s not doing these things or going crazy over MLB or spilling liquids on the floor, you can find him chatting up the many people he knows on campus or nerding out to a nice good book. Contrary to what you may believe from the above description, Will is actually 3cool5us when he longboards around campus. Will’s spirit candy would be the kind of chocolate that has those pop rocks in the middle -- he seems deceivingly normal at first glance/taste(?) but surprises you with all these weird quirks/hobbies after a short while of getting to know him but ultimately settles into a being that is sweet and just wants to get to know you as a person. :’)
w0w who is that?? WOW ITS A JENYEN!!! Catch this Cultural Creative running 7 mph at the gym, walking all over campus to hang out with people, and of course, napping in a high rise floor lounge - while you're at it, tackle her with a hug! It'll give you bonus points :3 Test her knowledge on various bugs, ask her to fart on demand, and let her show you her amazing pictures from Spain and gush about her favorite French rapper. No matter which you do, you'll have a great time with Jen. Oh, and if you couldn't tell, Jen is super active, which might explain her speed-of-light eating.
She’s lived in Taipei, Shanghai, and Maryland - meet the well-traveled and artistic Hanwen Yang! You might find her on the stage or behind the scenes, directing/writing/marketing, but one can’t deny that she is 100% a theatre person. Ask her about how she apparently knows Japanese, her favorite baby names, or for Asian dessert recipes - I guarantee you won’t regret getting to know the quirky and very sweet Hanwen better :>
When not being insanely cool kid he is, Paul Lin is seen frequently working working on bettering the environment. He has had the audacity to dress up as Naruto for Halloween and god knows what he has done since then. Originally from Seattle, Washington, he currently resides in Clarksville, Maryland where he causes trouble for all the neighboring seniors he lives next to. As a taker of naps, there is no place he hasn’t. According to him, he has fallen asleep during his SATS and definitely more than once in Van Pelt. He is PTS’ amazing cultural logistics chair for this year and he hopes to bring Taiwanese Culture to you!!
